I cannot tell you what year it is because I rightfully do not remember, but in my time, it is 2018. I started this escapade in 2017, and I met Abigail in 1836. From there, the romance began. I’ve traveled between time six, maybe eight times now, and experienced some exciting things. To introduce myself for those who have not read the first part of the story Between, I’m Moca.

After meeting Abigail, my life has changed dramatically, and so have people I had met in the 1800s. Abigail is no longer even Abigail at the request of her mother, Annalisa. Now that Abigail’s fascinating family history is starting to come to light, she is known as Elaina. Read on; I promise, you will understand.

Mama Ester is the matriarch amongst the black community. Nothing happens on the plantation without her say-so or her knowing. Then there is Ben. He’s the oldest black person on the plantation below Mama Ester. Although Ben dressed in rags, he would be considered metrosexual in modern times for the length of time he spends grooming.

Now there is Lucy. She’s Elaina’s aunt. She was purchased with Annalisa by the Edgefield family, but they were separated between the two plantations. Shortly after Elaina was born, Lucy was murdered, but she has managed to exist after death.

Despite the possibility that Ben and Lucy are responsible for Elaina and I meeting and falling in love, this story is ultimately not about these unforgettable people. It’s about revenge — my revenge for being lynched. So, come with me to 1836 and experience how I terrified history.
